Dell offers 256Gb SSD on laptops

Dell has updated the maximum size of the proposed SSD option forĀ  laptops. Now it is 256Gb, which is already comfort forĀ  today’s needs, unlike the 64GB, which was the maximum one year ago.

The new solid-state drive is provided by Samsung. It will be available as an option in the configuration of Dell XPS M1330 and M1730 laptops.

On Friday Dell announced that the cost of upgrade from base XPS configuration to the SSD 256Gb will cost additional $400 to the consumer and it will be possible in the coming weeks. This is another step towards the market dominance of SSD on the market of end-user storage devices. Nevertheless the price of SSD is still high in compare with HDD but the gap is declining with each passing day.
